Donation Roster
2008 available at Temple
The Bharatiya Temple of
Lansing is registered as a charitable organization approved under Sec.
501(C)(3) of the Internal Revenue Service. Starting January 2007, as required
by the Internal Revenue Service, The Bharatiya Temple of Lansing has mailed
individual receipts to donors, regardless of amount, for all donations
identifying the tax eligible status. Every year, the Temple has mailed a
donation roster of devotees identifying their prior year tax deductible and
life time cumulative donations. This practice was initiated, in part, to
assist donors with identifying their tax deductible donations to the
Temple. With the increase in the number of donors over the years, the
roster now requires over 50 printed pages. The Board has therefore
decided to instead make a printed copy available in the Temple for devotees who
wish to review it in person. Limited copies are available with the
priests if you would like one.
Please note: Donation amounts listed in the roster include general &
capital improvement fund donations, special event donations, and membership
dues. It does not include amounts paid for priest services, rental fees
for library material, temple rent, etc. The Temple will continue to
comply with applicable provisions related to donations received by
not-for-profit organizations. We have tried to compile this list with
utmost care. However, if you see any error, please first check your
records (canceled checks, bank statements, or receipts) and please contact Smruti
Shah (shahsmruti@yahoo.com) or Rajiv
Das (dasrajiv@msu.edu) and we will
respond as soon as feasible .
Sincerely,
Bharatiya
