Dear Devotees,

This message has five announcements from the Bharatiya Temple of Lansing.

1. Krishna Janmashtami celebration will be held on Thursday, 13 August 2009

The program is as follows:
a. Puja 7:30- 8:00 PM
b. Bhajan, Birthday celebration and Arati 8:00-8:30
c. Pinata (Dahi-handi)-breaking for children 8:40 PM
d. Prasad  - 8:40- 9:00 PM
The temple will be open until midnight for darshan and concluding puja at midnight. Please contact Sudhakar Kulkarni at 517-485-1060, e-mail: kulkarnis@acd.net, to volunteer with the program and help with prasad.
 
2. Retreat with Swami Bodhananda, August 21-22.

3. Mata Ki Chowki program on Saturday August 22 from 6 to 10 PM.

There will be Puja and Chowki conducted by a professional group from Toronto, followed by prasad. Help is needed with prasad. The menu is fixed: pooris, alu aabji, sooji halwa( karha), kale dry chole. Please let Pardeep Kumar, 517-347-2930, know how much of what item you can make. We need food for about 200 people.

4. Ganesh Festival from Sunday August 23 to Thursday September 3

5. Blood Donation Drive on Saturday August 29, 10 AM to 4 PM

The Temple is partnering with the American Red Cross to sponsor this blood drive, which will be at the Temple. Please join this worthy cause during the auspicious days of Ganesh festival by participating and donating blood. Our goal is to have 75 successful donations. We had about 45 donors sign up during last Sunday's Walk and we need  more participants to sign up by August 12. Please email or call any of the following co-coordinators and sign up:
