This message has 5 announcements from the Bharatiya Temple of Lansing.
1. Ganesha Festival is underway
and will end with Anantha Chaturdasi program at 7 PM on Thursday September 3. Program: http://lansingtemple.org/misc/Ganesh-program.pdf.
2. To avoid time/space conflict with the
Ganesha Festival, the weekly Monday
Rudrabhishekam will start at 6 PM next Monday, August 31. The weekly Karttikeya and Hanuman Prayer-Chanting session
next Tuesday (September 1) will be held in the Jain sanctum area at the
usual time.
3. Blood Donation Drive on Saturday
August 29, 10 AM to 4 PM:
Those who have signed up
are reminded that they need to show up at the Temple
on Saturday August 29 between the hours of 10 AM and 4 PM for the blood
collection. Those who have not signed up can just show up during those hours
for donating blood.
4. Special time for Ganesha
Abhishekam next Sunday, August 30:
The main hall has been
reserved for a private wedding next Sunday (August 30) morning and will be
closed to devotees. The Sanctum area will be accessible. The weekly Ganesha
Abhishekam will start at noon on that day.
5. Round 2 of Temple Cleanup on
Saturday September 12, 9 AM to 1 PM:
As our religious festival
season is approaching fast, we need your HELP in preparing the Temple. Last
Saturday, a number of volunteers came and took care of outdoor landscape and
window cleaning work. We need one more day of volunteer services to clean up
the inside of the Temple. We will be cleaning all utensils and kitchen
appliances in the basement . We will go through the storage room and dispose of
unwanted items and organize the remaining items. We will clean and mop tile
floors, clean electrical fixtures, fans, sanctum area, prayer hall, etc.
Everyone willing to help are invited to come and help. Please bring gloves and
any special cleaning equipments you may have that will help. Please keep in
mind that this is also an opportunity to meet new people and make friends.
