Dear Devotees,

This message has five announcements from the Bharatiya Temple of Lansing.

1)   Navaratri celebration, September 19-28, plus concluding Garba on October 3:

We will celebrate Navaratri with various pujas, paaths, and cultural activities. The detailed schedule is posted at:

2)   Vishnu Sahasranama Global Satsang chanting on September 19 at 10:30 AM:

Our Temple will join a world-wide coordinated chanting of Vishnu Sahasranama Stotram (VSN ) at the same time in countries across the globe on the first day of Navaratri, September 19, at 10:30 AM Michigan time. This is the second year that this Global Satsang is being arranged. It is believed that such a coordinated effort would help to intensify the vibrations and energy of VSN in promoting peace, harmony, and welfare of the world we live in. Smt. Seetha Gopalakrishnan and Shastriji have kindly agreed to lead the chanting. Please be at the Temple a few minutes before 10:30 AM if you wish to participate in the chanting, which should take about 40 minutes.

3)  Special Time for Venkateswara Abhishekam on September 19:

Because of the VSN chanting mentioned above, the regular Saturday morning program on September 19 will be as follows: Suprabhatam will be at the usual time (9:30 to ~10 AM), then the VSN chanting starting at 10:30 AM, followed by Sri Venkateswara Abhishekam starting at 11:15 AM.

4)   Monthly Havan at 11:30 AM on Sunday September 20 at 11:30 AM:

The monthly Third Sunday havan on September 20 is being sponsored by Sri. Jai Bhagwan and Smt. Rajbala Jaglan.  The program will include a talk by Dr. C.A. Reddy on the teachings of Bhagavad Gita, followed by a discussion on the purpose of life.  Following the program, lunch will be served.  Please plan to attend.

5)  Fourth Sunday Program on Sunday September 27 at 11:30 AM will include dance items:

A Fourth Sunday Puja featuring Vishnu Sahasranama recitation has been a monthly activity at our temple since July 2009.The puja begins with a short prayer to Lord Ganesha at 11:30 AM, followed by the chanting of Vishnu Sahasranama and singing of bhajans, and ends with Aarati. The program on September 27 will include a few Bharata Natyam dance items by Smt. Archana Sardar.
