This message has 6 announcements from the Bharatiya Temple of Lansing.
 
1)   Repair of temple’s old entrance starting October 6:
 
Repair of the temple’s old entrance is starting on Tuesday October 6. During the time the work is in progress, please use the new main entrance to enter and exit.
 
2)   Karwa Chauth puja on Wednesday October 7 at 4:30 PM:
 
Karwa Chauth puja on October 7 at 4:30 PM is being coordinated by Mrs. Meena Sharma.
 
3)   Sri Venkateshwara Kalyana Mahotsavam on Saturday October 10 at 10:30 AM:
 
As in the past, this Kalyana Mahotsavam is being organized at our Temple by the Lansing-area Telugu communityIt will be conducted on a grand scale by Sharmaji, our former priest, who is coming all the way from Texas for this purpose. The Mahotsavam will start at 10:30 AM. Prior to that, the usual weekly Suprabhatam, Venkateswara Abhishekam, and Navagraha Abhishekam will be held as per the following schedule:
 
Suprabhatam: 9:00 AM
Venkateswara Abhishekam: 9:30 AM
Navagraha Abhishekam: 9:30 AM
Venkateswara Kalyana Mahotsavam: 10:30 AM
Cultural programs: 12:00 - 1:00 PM
Aarati: 1:00 PM (followed by prasad/lunch).

4)   Monthly 2nd Sunday Birthday/Anniversary Havan on Sunday October 11:

This month’s birthday/anniversary havan on October 11th at 11 AM will be dedicated to Lord Rama. You can have the havan performed in the name of the person whose birthday and/or anniversary falls in this month for $51 per event. Your donation of $51 is tax deductible. 5) Laksharchana Puja for Lord Maha Vishnu on Saturday, October 17, at 11 AM:

This event is being organized, for the 8th year in a row, by a group of families from the Detroit area. The sponsors have a special request for the Lansing-area families: "Please come and join the Puja in large numbers so that, together, the attendance will be at least 100. With that attendance, we can complete the Puja with one round of recitation of the Lord's names." The usual weekly Suprabhatam  and Venkateswara Abhishekam will be held at special times (9 AM and 9:30 AM, respectively).
 
6) Diwali celebration on October 16th, 17th and 18th:

Chhoti Diwali will be celebrated on  October 16 (at 7 PM), Laxmi Puja on October 17 (at 7 PM), and a grand Diwali cultural program on October 18 (at 4:30 PM). Tickets for the October 18 program are available at the Temple and in local Indian grocery stores.
