Dear Devotees,

This message has two announcements from the Bharatiya Temple of Lansing.
 
1) Communication to recruit the Facility Manager(s) for our Temple:

Bharatiya Temple of Lansing has completed the expansion project last year and has added additional floor space, dining facilities and other amenities to accommodate the growing needs of the mid-Michigan Hindu and Jain community.  Our temple is in need of volunteer part-time Facility Manager(s) at this time to serve the community.  Principal job assignments/responsibilities are listed below. This is an excellent way to serve the temple and community and we encourage you to contact us if you are able to complete the assignments below.
 
Job Assignment/ Responsibilities:
 
1. Maintain the temple opening hours during the week.  Ensure that temple facilities are open to devotees on time and closed.
 
2. Ensure that at the temple closing time, all the safety precautions are taken and temple doors locked.
 
3. Ensure that all the temple equipments (including the HVAC units, lighting fixtures including outside parking lights, sump pumps, kitchen equipments) are in good working condition.  For any breakage contact the appropriate agencies for repair and coordinate the payment with board.
 
4. During major events, ensure that pre- and post-event tasks are completed for cleanliness and safety of the temple.
 
5. He/She will coordinate work with our janitorial staff as well as lawn mowing/snow cleaning contractor for proper upkeep of the temple in summer/winter.
 
6.
  Good communication skills are required.  The position will interact with local agencies (Township, Utility, Phone) as well as contractors, etc.
 
7.
  Facility Manager will be provided an office space at the temple and will report to the Board Member responsible for the Facility Maintenance.
 
8. The job functions may involve kitchen coordination, priest communication, taking calls, office work, etc.
 
9.
  The job function may expand as the facility gets used and we plan to do various programs.
 
10.
The hours per week could be from 10 to 20. That means we may recruit 2 to three managers.

Please attend the first Sunday Puja on November 1st - hosted by Dr. Ashok & Kavita GuptaPuja starts at 11.30am.  Lunch & prasad at 1:00pm.
